Seniors’ last day to return library materials to the Learning Commons is Friday, May 19.
Friday, May 5 there will be a Red Cross blood drive between 8:30 and 1:30 in the Maroon Gym! Faculty and students over the age of 16 are eligible to give blood, and their donation would be greatly appreciated. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. If interested please email Eleanor Mathias at email@example.com Sign-ups will be happening everyday this week during lunch blocks in the cafeteria, people can also request an appointment by email. STUDENTS MAY NOT BE EXCUSED FROM CLASSES TO GIVE BLOOD!
Class of 2017 Senior Week Graduation is just 4 1/2 weeks away! The Class Officers, Advisors and Parent Reps have been diligently planning fun and diverse ways for the class celebrate the end of high school in the days leading up to Graduation. Birthday Wishes Drive – Birthday Wishes is an organization that provides birthday parties for homeless children in the Boston area. Recommended donations: boxed cake mix, canned frosting, disposable cake pans, cups, candles, tablecloths, juice boxes, mini water bottles, plates, napkins, spoons, forks, party hats, masks,decorations (streamers, balloons and birthday banners). Please make sure that the items are in original packaging and expiration date or perishable goods are good until July 2017. Please but all items in a bag marked with teacher advisor’s name and YOG. The advisory with the most donations will receive baked goods from MRS. VICE-HISEY. May 8 – 17. Boxes will be located outside the learning commons
Donations Needed at Household Goods! Want to help out your Massachusetts homeless community? Household Goods in Acton assists homeless people moving into new homes by supplying them with gently used furniture, small appliances, linens, electronics, and kitchenware. They will be collecting donations this Saturday May 6th from 9:30am to 3pm at the Concord DropOff SwapOff located at the Concord Public Works Yard, 133 Keyes Road. They are in great need of mattresses, dressers/desks, and small appliances (microwaves, toasters, blenders, etc). If you have any questions please contact email@example.com.

The Red Cross Club will be having a bake sale on Monday, May 8 in the cafeteria right after school. This fundraiser will help the American Red Cross provide smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to the 7000+ homes in Massachusetts in need of them. Thank you for your support.

The Denmark Exchange Program for the 2017-2018 school year is now accepting applications. All CCHS students are welcome to apply. CCHS families will host a student from our Denmark sister school in October of 2017 and then travel to Denmark in April of 2018. The Water Challenge is a two week long commitment to drink only water and save money on other drinks like coffee, tea, soda, or juice. The challenge goes from May 8-22. The money saved will then be donated to The Water Project to fund the organization to provide clean water to people in need. A donation of just $23 will allow one person to access drinking water. Honor your grad, teacher, or coach! The three major phases of CC at Play’s fields renovation project at CCHS are complete and all our spring and fall sports are benefiting: baseball, softball, lacrosse, cross country, track & field, soccer, football, and field hockey. The project has been a huge success. This summer, CC at Play will put finishing touches onto the project. They plan to build a maintenance building, add way finding signage, and install landscaping at the entrances. To fund this final phase of work, they are selling engraved bricks that will pave the area around the new flagpole in the stadium. These bricks are a great way to honor a graduate, celebrate a team, thank a coach or teacher, or celebrate an alum. Bricks can be purchased at www.CCatPlay.org. The Willard Carnival will be held on Sunday June 4 this year. Willard family and friends are really looking forward to playing over 30 games, enjoying snacks, a fabulous cake walk, and so much more! Each year we look forward to working with CCHS volunteers!! This year we need help with set up, running the booths and games, and breaking down the event. It is a great way to support the community and of course we are more than happy to sign off on any volunteer hours needed for school.
