Teen Buddy Program
Agency Name: Teen Buddy Program
Commitment: Twice monthly (3-4 hours per month) from October through May
Description:

You can earn community service credits while having fun and helping a younger child.

The Teen Buddy Program is a fun and exciting social mentoring program, in its fifth year!

The Teen Buddy program is organized and supervised by Julee Vitello, a school psychologist and counselor at Willard Elementary School. This program provides older student/younger student mentoring  opportunities in the format of a structured program of after school  activities. The Teen Buddy mentoring relationships are intended to  facilitate self-confidence, improvements in school attitudes, create positive social relationships and promote pro-social behavior in  elementary aged students. Another goal of this project is to provide CCHS students with an opportunity to positively impact the lives of younger  students, and to strengthen the communities in which they live. This can  be accomplished while also helping the high school students to satisfy the community service credit requirement for graduation.

*Note: The program is co-sponsored by the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest  Organization, in conjunction with the Concord Public School System.

Days/Times Needed: At Alcott School, 2 Wednesdays a month, 3:30 to 5:00 pm during the school year.
Additional Information: The ability to commit to attendance for all 15 sessions and an interest in helping a younger child are the qualifications. Good for students considering careers in education or who want experience working with kids. Application process: Attend an Informational Meeting held in early September at CCHS, and fill out an application. For CCHS students only.
