Terracycling

Terracycling turns trash into drinking water!  For over five years, EFSG has helped CCHS collect and send items that are not normally recycled to Terracycling.  Each piece of trash earns CCHS points.  These points add up to donations to Charity: Water, a non-profit that provides clean drinking water to people in need all over the world.  In just the last two years alone, CCHS trash has provided a year of fresh water to over 50 people!

Currently, CCHS collects:

• empty cereal bag liners
• shiny snack bar (ex. granola bars and energy bars) wrappers
• empty dental floss and toothpaste containers.

We have shared information about our work at Thoreau School’s Turtle Night (Spring 2012).  With the help of CCTA, we also produced a short film to promote this work.
