| Description: | Open Table has many volunteer opportunities. Specifically for students there is a Student team with shifts from 4-6pm Monday – Wednesday. There are additional shifts throughout the day Monday – Thursday sorting donated goods and packing groceries in Pick and Pack, distributing groceries to clients during the Fresh Air pantry on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and working in the kitchen cooking to-go meals and dishwashing and packaging. Information including job descriptions and shift times can be found on the website. Open Table runs a summer Student Internship Program. During each of four 2-week sessions, selected interns work at the pantry for 40 hours gaining first-hand experience in non-profit food relief. | Additional Information: | Student volunteers are requested to commit at least 10 hours to Open Table. All volunteers must register by filling out an application on the website for placement. After initial placement, Open Table utilizes a self-scheduling software which allows for flexibility in volunteer hours. Volunteers must be 14 and over to work in the pantry and 16 and over to cook in the kitchen. |
