Agency Name: Concord Area CROP Walk for the Hungry
Commitment: The Crop Walk is held in the Fall each year.

CROP Hunger Walks are “Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty”– neighbors walking together to take a stand against hunger in our world.
Funds raised by the Concord area CROP Walk go to Church World Service(CWS) for worldwide emergency relief of disasters, such as floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes; for refugee aid; and for fighting the root causes of hunger through community development programs in 80 underdeveloped countries. In addition, one quarter of these funds raised provide substantial contributions to the ten local supper/food pantry programs that we support, which are Concord Open Table, The Acton Community Supper and Food Pantry, the Maynard Food Pantry, Maynard Open Table, the Sudbury Food Pantry, Bedford Community Table/Pantry, Gaining Ground, Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, Inc., Mt Calvary Community Meal, and Townsend Ecumenical Outreach. If they wish, walkers may register online and solicit pledges from sponsors through the Concord CROP Walk website Walk papers are also available in Ms. Kirshstein’s office at CCHS.


Days/Times Needed: Registration begins at 1:30 pm at First Parish. in Concord, MA, with music from the CCHS Pep Band, and the walkers start out about 2:15 pm.
