Carleton-Willard Village is a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, located in Bedford,  Massachusetts, and providing services since 1884.  In addition to its apartments and cluster homes for independent seniors, Carleton-Willard offers services for assistance-in-living, nursing and rehabilitation, and Alzheimer’s care. There are numerous volunteer opportunities, including:

•    Low-Vision Assistants read a book or a newspaper with a resident who can no longer see well, and may sort through mail or help write a note.
•    Friendly Visitors spend time with residents reading together, writing notes, or maybe playing a game.  Most importantly, friendly visitors listen to and talk with those who enjoy companionship.
•    Assist with Activities.  Something is always going on: special programs, parties, arts & crafts, exercises. Volunteers are needed to help with everything from setting up or decorating for an event, to working with residents during the activity to keep them engaged.
•    Have a talent? We welcome performers of many types – individuals as well as groups. Our residents love music, pets, dance, magic and slideshows.
