Any student wanting to participate in Spring sports must be registered on Family ID prior to the first day of tryouts, TODAY, Monday, March 20. Please click here to register.
All students who plan to participate in a school spring sport must have a physical examination annually. The physical must be done and a copy of it must be on file with the health office. This needs to be done prior to participation in the sport, which includes practice and tryouts. All physical exams by Massachusetts State Law are only valid for 13 months from the date of the exam. Students who have a valid physical exam at the start of the season and the expiration date occurs during the season, become ineligible to participate on the date of expiration.
The Birthday Wishes club will be having a Spring bake sale after school in the dining commons on Monday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 21! All proceeds will benefit homeless children!
THOREAU SCHOOL CAKE WALK Saturday, March 25, 1-3pm is the annual Thoreau Cake Walk and Family Festival. Loads of games, crafts, food, prizes and, of course, CAKE! We need a TON of volunteers to make this event a success. If you think you could help out, Please Sign Up Here!
The English Department is sponsoring its annual Paula Sirois Poetry Contest. Everyone is welcome to submit 2 – 3 poems. Please write your name, YOG and English teacher’s name on a separate piece of paper and submit your poems to Ms. Peterson in Room 315. Deadline for submission is Friday, March 31.

Come hear musicians Patrick Nero of Acton-Boxborough, Lauren Weintraub of Lincoln-Sudbury, and our own Chris Ruediger and TOS to raise money for Samaritans at the Concord-Carlisle High School Auditorium on Friday, March 24 from 7:30-10:00pm. Wheelhouse Thought Series #2: Deconstructing Stigma: Raising Awareness about Teen Mental Health on Thursday, March 23 from 6:30 to 8 pm. Please join in a cross generational event and learn about the groundbreaking Deconstructing Stigma Campaign at McLean Hospital. Learn about revolutionary treatment practices from noted doctors at McLeans and personal experience from CCHS graduate, Ana Febres-Cordero’ who is running the Boston Marathon in support of the campaign. Reading Development & the Brain, Thursday, March 23, Presentation/Q&A 10-11:30am, Ripley Administration Building, Conference Room 1, Presenter Dr. Nadine Gaab, Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital. The Concord Public and Concord-Carlisle Regional SEPAC is pleased to offer a presentation providing an overview of the typical and atypical reading brain, its development, and how it changes in response to intervention. Dr. Gaab will introduce the idea of early screening for reading disabilities in young children and discuss its implications for education settings and policy. She will conclude by discussing the implications of neuroscientific findings for general education, educational policy as well as the development of interventions. Concord Conservatory of Music Presents An Old-time and Americana Fiddling Workshop – please see the attached press release and share with your students! We greatly appreciate your help with passing along the event details. On Saturday, March 25, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, CCM is presenting a hands-on old-time Americana music workshop led by Laura Cortese and Valerie Thompson, both from the band Laura Cortese and the Dance Cards. Players with at least two years of experience on violin, cello, guitar, banjo, double bass, or mandolin (and 8 years of age or older) are invited to bring their instruments to learn a few tunes by ear and join in an afternoon of traditional music-making.
