The Boys Lacrosse program will have a brief informational meeting on Thursday,January 12 at 7:00 AM in the Fitness Center. Upon arriving to school all interested players should “check in” with Coach Dalicandro anytime between 7:00 and 7:30 AM. The meeting is for any player grade 9 through 12 interested in playing Boys Lacrosse this spring.

Become a Minecraft Mentor at the Thoreau School (for Community Service Credit!)The Thoreau School PTG is looking for 2-3 CCHS students to mentor a group of 16, 2nd through 5th graders in Minecraft on Thursday afternoons this winter. The mentors will help the students design and construct, will encourage collaboration across the group, and will receive 8-9 hours of community service credit. We are looking for 4 student and 4 parent volunteers to join a faculty working group! For the past two summers the faculty and staff have been enjoying a shared summer reading experience. Based on this, we want to open this activity up to the CCHS community with a “twist” on summer reading. Instead of a list of books, we are proposing a question-based format for consideration over the summer. Newton North High School has had a very good experience with this approach, and last year chose this as their community question: “Why do people put themselves in other people’s shoes, and what can we learn from that?” You can see the resource list generated by their community question here. Please mention your graduating class year, as well as potential ideas for our community question.
Apply for the prestigious Spring Ruettgers Seminar! Ceramics: History, Science, and Art Learn about the history of Ceramics and some of the scientific principles behind it through hands-on work with clay and glaze in addition to lectures and class discussions. Class begins in February 2017 and will meet once a week for twelve sessions. Participants will receive 2.5 credits for participation. The Concord Carlisle Human Rights Council invites you to the 24th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 7pm at the Fenn School. Performers include the Fenn Treble Choir, the Willard 5th Grade Chorus, the Boston Children’s Choir, Boston’s Joyful Voices of Inspiration Choir, and Lisa Lee, Boston Artist of the written and spoken word. It will be an inspiring evening. This is a free event, but donations are appreciated.
CCHS Study Night Friday, January 13, 3-9 pm The Gleason Public Library is staying open late on Friday, Jan 13, until 9 pm for CCHS students to study, write papers, and prepare for midterm tests and assignments. We’ll also have a study break area for when you need to step back for a few minutes, and plenty of nourishment to get you through the evening. The Concord Free Public Library will be hosting a weekly Girls Who Code Club for girls in grades 6-12 beginning on January 11, 2017.
