NEW EVENTS

The Thanksgiving Day Football game is Thursday, November 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Bedford High SchoolPre-game ticket sales in the Main Office Monday and Tuesday, November 21 and 22 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Wednesday, November 23 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Pre-game – $7 – Adults, $5 – StudentsALL tickets $10 game day.

Winter sport registration is now open – All students wishing to participate in a winter sport must register prior to Nov. 21. http://www.familyid.com/concord-carlisle-high-schoolUpdated physical must be on file in the nurse’s office prior to the first day of practice Nov. 28.

Military Fair at CCHS: Tuesday, November 22 from 11:00-12:00 in the CCHS lobby.Interested in a military career or attending one of the Academies? Then this will be a good place to start finding out information.  EVERYONE is invited and encouraged to stop by to show support of our troops. Please give them a warm welcome and our thanks.

CONTINUING EVENTS

Attention CCHS Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors – Concord-Carlisle Community Connections, a program designed to pair CCHS students with active and retired Concord and Carlisle residents in a variety of career disciplines for a career-mentoring program, is back for its fourth year!  This program is offered during the second semester, students will get together with a mentor to discuss what it is like to run a business or be employed in a certain profession.  A few of the career choices that were represented in the last couple of years were: law, real estate, engineering, architecture, finance, property management, and commercial banking, among many others.  Please see the application (www.cchs-connections.org/apply) to see all the fields represented.  To learn more about the program or apply, please visit our website: www.cchs-connections.org.  If you have any further questions, please contact Mr. Wells (swells@concordcarlisle.org) or stop by his office (Room 209 in the Student Support area).

THANKSGIVING DONATIONS AND VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Our CCHS community is once again pleased to be hosting a traditional Thanksgiving meal for senior citizens from Concord and Carlisle on Saturday, November 19.  Parents can support this beloved event by donating a turkey or cider, by making a financial gift, and/or by volunteering to work at the luncheon.   If you haven’t yet brought in your turkey, please donate FRESH turkeys only at this point.  To sign up to bring in a FRESH turkey or cider, go to: Click Here  To sign up to volunteer at the luncheon, go to:  Click Here  To make a donation, of $20.00, or any amount to offset the cost of this luncheon, please mail a check payable to “CCHS Parents Assn. – Thanksgiving” to:  Concord-Carlisle High School Attn: Madeline Wilson 500 Walden St. Concord, MA  01742 Thank you for helping to make this a memorable holiday for the extended CCHS community!
CCHS Student government is also looking for 30-35 student representatives to help serve meals to senior citizens at the Thanksgiving Luncheon. The event is from10am-2pm on November 19 in the CCHS Cafeteria. Practice ACT at the Gleason Library, Saturday, 11/19 at 10:30 am Get ready for the ACT with a practice test at the Gleason Library in Carlisle on Saturday, November 19 at 10:30 am, provided and proctored by Open Door Test Prep of Acton. There is no fee for this test. Seating is limited. Registration is required and can be done at gleasonlibrary.org or calling the library at 978-369-4898. Food, Funds and Fun with Open Table on Thanksgiving Grab your family and friends on Thanksgiving morning for the 7th Annual Turkey Trot sponsored by Marx Running Store and Circle Furniture. This fun 5k starts at 8:30 sharp on Keyes Road in Concord and welcomes runners and walkers of all speeds. Registration opens at 7:30 am (preregister now at onyourmarxracing.com). Come with a pantry donation — cans of food or cash — and help us feed others as we enjoy this day of plenty. This is a fun family tradition — come join in the fun by volunteering if you don’t run. CCM Saxophone Master Class & Jazz Concert with Carlos Averhoff, Jr. on Sunday, November 20, 2016 – CCM faculty member, renowned Cuban-born tenor saxophonist and contemporary Afro-Cuban jazz composer, Carlos Averhoff, Jr. will host a Saxophone Master Class & Jazz Concert. Averhoff will speak about the saxophone, both its history and technique, then perform an hour-long concert with his jazz quartet. Saxophone players are invited to bring their instruments to the event, part of which will be interactive. Jazz lovers, as well as current saxophone students at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels are guaranteed to benefit from and enjoy the event. Tickets are $20 per person and free for CCM students under 18. Screenagers: Growing Up in a Digital Age Wednesday, November 30 at 7pm – CCHS Auditorium Are you scrolling through life, with rapid-fire thumbs and a six-second attention span? Come see SCREENAGERS: Growing Up in the Digital Age, a documentary about one of the biggest personal and parenting issues of our time.  Watch the movie trailer here.
