Albert B. & Evelyn H. Black Fund: Bank of America serves as Trustee for this account and offers the scholarship each year to past and present students of Concord-Carlisle High School. Applicants can receive up to $3,000 in any academic year and up to $7,500 total. They must be in the top half of their high school class or in good academic standing at their graduate institution. The Trustee will select recipients on the basis of academic record, financial need and general appearance of the scholarship application. The Trustee will give strong consideration to the essay questions (Part III) and to the accuracy and orderliness of answers to questions of fact (Part I and II). Need some help with spring clean up? On Saturday, April 30 (Rain date May 1st), the CCHS baseball teams will hold their annual workday. The players will rake, haul, spread mulch and perform light yard work for residents of Concord and Carlisle. The fee is $15 per player per hour and all proceeds go to the CCHS Baseball program. The shifts are from 9 am – 12 pm and 1-4 pm, with a minimum of 2 players per 3-hour shift. The Community Chest is looking for nominations for its Volunteer Service Award. The award is given for outstanding volunteerism in the field of human services. Nominees must have a minimum of 10 volunteer hours performed between June 1, 2015 and April 1, 2016. COMMUNITY EVENTS

April Recess – CCHS Driver Education class Students who will be 16 years old by July 18th of this year may enroll in the April class, 30 hours of RMV-required classroom. It meets Monday to Friday, April 18-22, 9 am to 3:30 pm each day. Behind-the-wheel instruction begins when a student obtains her/his Learner Permit; lessons are individually scheduled seven days a week throughout the year. Transition Planning Workshop – Now is the time for High School Students on an IEP to start planning for their future! Date: Wednesday, April 13, 7-9pm – Parent Mingle 6:30-7pm Location: Concord Carlisle High School, Learning Commons. Please join the Concord and CCHS SEPAC for an overview of transition planning and key factors critical for postsecondary life, including transitioning to college. SEPAC Seeking Volunteer Liaisons for Each School The Concord Public School and Concord-Carlisle Regional School District Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is looking for liaisons to represent each school in our district. The role of the SEPAC liaison is to represent the SEPAC at various events, help connect parents to the resources SEPAC offers, stay abreast of school happenings, and share information about their school with the SEPAC Board. Seeking Volunteers for the Concord Integrated Preschool (CIPS) Working Committee The Concord Public School and Concord-Carlisle Regional School District Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is looking for volunteers to serve on their CIPS Working Committee. This committee will study various aspects of the CIPS so as to provide recommendations to the Concord Public School on matters pertaining to the Concord Integrated Preschool. Meetings will take place outside of school hours and the committee will serve from April 2016-April 2017. We are in need of volunteer representatives and are looking for someone to represent the Concord community. Annual Nick Ressler Blood Drive on April 9 You can make a difference on Saturday, April 9 by donating blood at the annual Nick Ressler Blood Drive. In 2001, 300+ community members and CCHS students rolled up their sleeves for Nick, and due to the generous donors at the annual Nick Ressler Blood Drives over the past 15 years, more than 2000 individuals have been given the gift of more time with their friends and families. The Massachusetts General Hospital Bloodmobile will be at Hunt Recreation Center, 90 Stow Street on Saturday, April 9 from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM. New donors are welcome…you must be 16 years old (with parental permission) or older to donate. All donors receive a Boston Strong t-shirt!
