Julie is the former freshmen Dean at Stanford and author of “How to Raise an Adult: Break Free of the Overparenting Trap and Prepare Your Kid for Success”. Julie will share her insight into the ways in which overparenting impacts children, parents, and society at large, while providing practical strategies for those who wish to ensure that the next generation can take charge of their own lives with competence and confidence. Julie has an amazing message that is relevant to parents, educators, and care-givers of toddlers through twenty-somethings, and we encourage everyone to attend! Although this event is FREE and open to all, Advance Registration is required as we expect demand to be very high. SADD Presents: What’s Really Going On? a Q&A with Our Teens – Wednesday, February 10, at 7:30 in the LS Café SADD students compile a panel of LSRHS students to give honest and candid responses to questions regarding what teens at LS are doing. The evening is set up with students in one room and parents in the other. A voice-altering microphone enables parents and student to remain anonymous to one another. The evening features a mutual education of both parents and students as to what is really going on out there and what we as parents are wondering about. Discussion will provide our community with an opportunity to gain a better understanding of what challenges face our community and our kids.
