No IT Student Help Desk Hours during Lunch Blocks this week due to Mid-Term Exams!

During exam week, Bus 9 to Boston will leave immediately following school each day. Based on student feedback, there will not be a departure at 3 o’clock any day during exams. The 6 o’clock bus will run every day as usual.

Important reminder to all students: To avoid credit reduction on your report card please clear up any unexcused absences before the quarter ends TODAY. Please see Mrs. Merry, in the main office, with any questions.

There’s still time to audition for next year’s Select Vocal Ensembles! There is one more audition block during the G block exam. All are welcome. Students may also make an appointment TODAY for the week after midterms. Please schedule appointments directly with Ms. Smith via email.

Juniors & Seniors who have not turned in open/off campus forms please do so by Thursday, January 21 so you won’t have studies on your new schedule. Reminder: If you have Directed Studies on your new schedules – you need to go to them!

Open Gyms During Mid-Year Exams: The Main Gym and the Fitness Center will be open during mid-year exams from 9:10-11:10 and 1:05-2:05. Required attire for the Main Gym will be athletic shoes (no boots, etc.). Required attire for the fitness center will be athletic shoes and a full change of clothing. Please come to the open gyms and manage your stress through exercise!

Health & Fitness will be offering a Lifeguard Training class during A block on Tuesdays & Thursdays during the second semester. This is available to all juniors and seniors who have this time available and are interested in getting American Red Cross Lifeguard certified. You must be at least 15 years of age and be able to pass three prerequisite swim tests in order to be accepted into the class. Please contact Mrs. Gillis in H&F for more information.

PRISM 2016 Please join us on February 6, 2016 @7pm for PRISM, presented by the Concord-Carlisle HS Band and Orchestra. PRISM is a non-stop musical kaleidoscope, showcasing the talented student musicians of the Concord-Carlisle High School Bands and Orchestra. A variety of musical styles and ensembles will be presented throughout the performing space, creating an interactive experience for the audience.

CCHS Driver Education 3 February classroom sections 1) Evening class, Tues-Thurs 6:30-8:30 pm, starting Feb. 2
2) February recess class, Monday to Friday, 9-3:30, starting Feb. 15 3) After-school class, Mon-Wed-Thurs, 2:15-4:15 pm, starting Feb. 29. The classroom portion is 15 two-hour classes. The program also includes 12 hours of behind the wheel instruction, 6 hours of in-car observation, and a 2-hour parent class. Note: The February recess class is likely to fill. Trails Committee Offers Moonlight Walk Come join the Carlisle Trails Committee for a moonlight walk. Meet at the Foss Farm parking lot, 0.3 mi north of the Concord River on Rte 225, at 7:00 pm on Saturday, January 23. Should we get snow, we plan to offer a longer route on the River Trail for skiers and a shorter route around the moonlit fields and to the river’s edge for snowshoers or skiers desiring a shorter trip. If there is no snow, bring Yaktrax or other micro spikes. Families are welcome. Bring a headlamp or flashlight. Refreshments will be served at the end. The Center for Parents and Teachers announces its SATURDAY SEMINAR January 30, 2016 (please hold snow date of Feb 6, 2016) from 10 AM to 3 PM Barney Brawer will faciliate a presentation on “Making Something Better Happen: The Negotiation of Power and Control in Schools and Families” This lively and engaging workshop will provide educators, parents, and other interested adults with new skills to make something better happen when interpersonal systems (families, classrooms, schools, day care settings, etc.) get “stuck” around complex problems and, despite good intentions, keep repeating ineffective responses.
