We will begin the year with a brief look at the history of psychology - the key figures, developments, early studies, and ideas that led to the creation of the modern field of psychology. As modern psychology developed, psychologists had to figure out how to study the mind scientifically. We will look at those early struggles and learn how to develop a rigorous, reliable scientific study of something we may not always be able to see - the complex inner workings of our minds.
